Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
1 pound/454 grams Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
1 clove garlic
2 T/28 grams melted salted butter
2 oz/60 grams milk or cream
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Cut the potatoes into small cubes, peeling first if desired
   NOTEOnce boiled and removed from the water, the potato skins can easily be removed by rubbing the potatoes
Add cut potatoes to warm water and heat until boiling
Reduce heat to a low boil
Continue boiling until potatoes fall off a fork when pierced and lifted from the pot
Drain the water and allow the potatoes to cool
Add remaining ingredients and mash potatoes with a potato masher
